Well to be honest, we didn’t quite know when we got there, because there isn’t that much to do. But here is a great way to spend a day in Krabi anyway.
Start out the day, visiting the morning market near the harbor. It is a cool place to see, and you will properly be some of the only tourists there. The morning market is were the owners of the food stalls of the night market shops. So you night meet the chicken or shrimps that you will have for dinner later.
After visiting the morning market, you will soon find out that the city of Krabi do not offer that much more in daytime. So take a walk to the pier, check out the sculptures of crab and the eagle. At the pier you should get on of the local longtails to take you in to the mangrove forest, the muslim fish market and the Kanab Nam Cave. On this tour you can eat lunch at one of the fish markets and meet monkeys at the mangroves. A tour like this takes a few hours, so go for a walk in the city after and see the afternoon fruit market.
The most important thing that you must not miss in Krabi is eating at the famous night market. A vast mass of food stalls offers you anything of all the great traditional thai dishes, juices, shakes, homemade coconut ice cream and a very entertaining place to spend dinnertime. It might not be very clean place, but being in Thailand, you must try to eat at a street kitchen.
