But it is where you want to be – when visiting the Namuang waterfalls on Koh Samui. The waterfalls Numuang 1 and 2 are well-known on the internet, and when you read the different articles and posts, you think twice of going to the waterfalls.
Honestly Namuang 1 is nothing special – just a cute little waterfall, where the main thing is to get tourists on top of an elephant for the locals there. You can walk to the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, have a swim if you prefer, thats more or less that.
When you arrive to Numuang 2 – five minutes from the first waterfall, you can choose to walk to the small park at the waterfalls pool, or risk your live in some of the 4×4 trucks offering to drive tourists up there. We took the walk up there, actually Katja made the trip twice, because we forgot our money in the SUV, what a work-out!
When arriving at the top of the park, you will find a small path towards the top of the 80 meter waterfall. The path will be more and more steep as you go on, and soon it will be more a climb than a walk. Even though is might feel like it – this is where you want to be, because the view when you get top the top is magnificent! For sure, it breaks quite a sweat to get up there, but it is really worth it. Remember to wear to good hiking shoes or running shoes and make sure to go up there in good weather. You don’t want to make you way down on slippery rocks and mud.
