In Kuala Lumpur the the most famous towers are certainly the Petronas Twin Towers – but we would like to tell you about another tower, which provides you 360 degree views over this fantastic city. The Menera Tower Kuala Lumpur, also known as the KL Tower, was build in the start of the 90’s and the very top of the antenna reaches 421 meters. The loft of the main dome is 335 meters over ground level.
The technical use of the tower is telecommunication, but it is also a huge tourist attraction. You can take the lift to the observation deck at 276 meters / 906 feet in just 54 seconds. The tower also have a stairwell, but honestly we didn’t check if it is possible to the the walk up to the observation desk. Up at the deck here you have the most stunning view over the city. Due to the very central location of this great structure, you can see different parts of the city from the tower. The tower also has a restaurant and host different islamic events, skydiving, base-jumping new-year parties etc.
Surrounding the tower at the base, you find a variety of shops, and different thing about the structure. So there is a lot to go and see here, and if you for example are staying in the golden triangle, and wants to go to Chinatown, the Menera Tower is the obvious choice to combine in the tour.
Here are some of our pictures from the tower – hope you will enjoy them…
