Review of NYC’s leading steakhouses.
While in New York, we wanted to try some good original american steak houses, and the first choice was Club A Steakhouse, which is the best rated steak-joint in NYC on TripAdvisor. Our event manager on Bryant Park Hotel booked the table, and we were meeting up with some friends from Denmark, who was also in New York for Christmas. Club A Steakhouse is located at the border of midtown and Upper East side.
Arriving to Club A, we were met with big smiles from the staff and was led to the table, right in the center of the restaurant. The atmosphere of this place is truly great, very cosy with a feel like home. It is just like sitting in someones, rather huge, living room. You will enjoy you dinner in a combination of classic elegance and modern design, which shows in the decor, the menu and atmosphere.
We ordered the Porterhouse Steak for all 4 of us, plus some different sides. Just from the beginning, the service was spotless perfect! Very polite, very welcoming and just the right kind of attention form the waiters. This is a place that lots of other restaurants could lean a lot from – these guys knows impeccable service.
The Porterhouse Steak was so tender, the texture of the meat perfect, the taste of the sauces and sides perfect, and the only problem was that we ran out of appetite too soon, due to the vast amount of food. By my god it was good. After the main course, the legendary restauranteur Bruno Selimaj, owner of Club A Steakhouse, offered a complementary taste on the dessert menu and a drink. Just like the rest of the staff, Bruno made us feel as welcome, as in our own home. Due to the low amount of light in the room, and in respect of the other guest, we didn’t take many pictures in Club A. And honestly – not any pictures could show you how good Club A is – you need to go there, and to find out for yourself. Our best to the staff this epic place.
Second choice was The Sea Fire Grill on 158 East 48th Street, recommended by the event manager of Bryant Park. This american seafood cuisine offers a sleek and cool place for enjoying both lobsters and beef. The atmosphere is bright, trendy and spacious. The staff was also here very attentive and doing their best to give us a great evening. The food – we got a starter dish, some lobster and a steak – was good and honest food, rich in taste, texture and to a very fair price. The only hick-up, which was not the staffs or restaurants fault at all, was the french couple, on the edge of a really nasty divorce, discussing their way through the entire evening. The Sea Fire is for sure a great place to go for a night out to enjoy some seafood in the city. The manager was very welcoming and doing his best to make sure that our evening was as good a possible.
