Even the best things at comes to an end – an one early morning we had to leave Maldives to head back towards Europe and a few days in Paris. Here is our story of leaving Maldives.
Just like any other situation og Maafushivaru, the staff had everything under total control, and the night before checking out, we got a little letter in the room, with all the details. As we were leaving early in the morning, the resort had taken care of everything, and besides getting use to get up really early and pack our stuff, we didn’t have to think of anything else. Eventhough this was way before the normal breakfast was open, Aksam our waiter, was up early and had found a little breakfast for us, it might be a little thing, but that just shows world-class service.
After a quick breakfast, we boarded the Dhoni and sailed towards the sea-plane waiting for us. While the sunrise was in the background, we boarded and set the destination towards Male to catch our flight. So one again we had the chance to enjoy the breathtaking views of these beautiful islands in the morning light as when we arrived at Maldives. But just this time, we were sitting up here in sky, knowing what kind of beauty was to be found just under the surface of the indian ocean.
Being use to vast international airports, we were a little stressed, when we landed only 1,5 hour before our flight to Doha was set to leave. But as everything else in Maldives, someone has thought of the details, so you can just relax. So when we arrived at the departure-hall, a person from TMA, the seaplane company, peeked into to the bus “Anyone here flying with Qatar to Doha?” It turned out that TMA had everything under control, and we just got the message: “No stress – I have told the check-in counter that you guys are on the way – so just grab you luggage and continue through the airport”.
So here is some of the last pictures from Maldives for now, but it is more that certain that we will return as soon as possible, which is new to us. Normally we don’t return quickly to the same places, but Maldives had us falling in love, with the sea, the weather, the service and even more with each other – that we just need to go back…
