If you feel like Indian food and are in the area of Thonglor, there is a small place you should know about. In the Opus building at Soi 10, Bombay Blues has a restaurant which will give you quite an experience. When you walking, if feels like you are being warped to an Indian chill out lounge in seconds. Low lights, bright colors and with a heady indian atmosphere, this place makes a instant impression, and you can choose to sit outside on the balcony or inside on the comfortable cushions, mats or beds. The place is famous for the Sheesha, a water pipe where you can enjoy flavored tobacco, and Bombay Blues is known for the special watermelon version. As we are non smokers, we didn’t try it.
The food is very tasteful, rich in texture and taste. The menu has a great variety, and is served fast. We arrived first in the evening, and got our outside seating where we could follow the life on the street. After choosing the dishes, we only waited about 10 minutes before the first food was arriving at the table. The taste was some of the best indian food we have had so far. After enjoying all the great food, when we returned inside, the restaurant was packed with people enjoying life, to the tones of Bollywood tunes.
So don’t be alarmed by the strange stair well and the sneaky hallway, behind the door lies an excellent experience.
