In January 2015 we stayed at The Oberoi Dubai during our stay. When we arrived at the airport, we where picked up by the hotels limosine that took us on the short drive for the first part of The Oberoi Dubai – Hotel Review. Located at the business bay area of the city, The Oberoi is close to Dubai Mall and Dubai International Financial Center, and with stunning views of Burj Khalifa. The location is a bit away from the coastline, and also a little more remote than some of the competitors in the city. But as most of the things you want to go a see in Dubai is reached by taxi, it works out fine in the end.
We arrived after the comfortable transfer from the airport and after a quick check in, we was guided to our Deluxe City View Room, a 52 square metre luxury room. The interior is very well balanced, decor, colors and furniture quite conservative, and every amenity you can need. We liked the fact that the hotel provides bulter service in every room and 24 hour laundry service. The floor to ceiling windows framed the view over Dubai.
The breakfast in Nine7One is a quite extensive buffet of many traditional breakfasttypes from different areas in the world. The food was good, fresh prepared and the possibility to sit in the courtyard and relax in the morning sun, gave the breakfast an extra dimension.
The Oberoi provides all the things you need out of a 5 star luxury hotel with 4 different restaurants, one of these being Ananta, which is amongst one of the very best places to dine in the entire city. As we didn’t have that much time in the city, unfortunately we didn’t have the time to try the restaurant.
Furthermore there is a luxurious spa, where guest can indulge in different types of therapy, Ayurvedic, Balinese, Oberoi, Thai or Western. We tried the spa for a massage, which was a great way to charge the batteries after a hard days shopping and sightseeing. Besides the spa, there is also a 24 hour fitness center and a 25 meter swimming heated swimmingpool, a perfect place to start or end a day in Dubai.
During our stay we used the concierge quite a lot, and we must say that their service was spotless. The staff help us our with planning trips, booking tables for dining and in general had an eye for the details of our stay.
The Oberoi name equals luxury in its finest form, and the Dubai hotel meets this standard very good. It is more a business hotel, than the typical tourist hotel, but still it holds everything you would need. Just be aware of the location is a little remote, well at least at the moment, with the vast construction work going on every day in Dubai, this might soon be very central in the city.
