Fifteen minutes away from the stunning main island, we find Embudhoo – Coco Palm Desert Island. Travellersplanet was heading here for a half day private lunch, and we was looking very much forward to have an island on our own again. Embudhoo is a very tiny, pristine island, that has a basic villa called Kudabe Ge located right on the beach. The island has a lush vegetation, and the villa is very simpel and rustic. The floors are mainly sand, and the furniture wooden. Simple and very beautiful. In the end of the villa, is a basic version of the traditional outdoor bathroom.
We jumped into the little speedboat, that was going to take os to the Embudhoo. Onboard was also a big coolbox, containing our lunch for the day, that we chose the evening before. In the typical high range Coco Service, the staff made sure that you go fresh juices instead of wine, as one of os is allergic to wines. Very nive, that these kinds of adjustments are taken care of in a heartbeat.
As we arrived on Embudhoo the two guys on the boat carried the food up to a big table in the shades, showed us the villa and within a few minutes, they where sailing back to Coco Palm again. Then we had this little piece of paradise for ourselves for the next 6 hours. As you might have guessed, a huge photoshoot was our first mission, as this place was the perfect location for pictures. The beach in front of the villa has magnificent colors and nice coralsand, and you have a beautiful strip of sand all the way around to have a great walk on.
After the shoot, we turned our attention of the lunch, and of course also the decoration of the table to make the pictures more stunning. So Katja went exploring on the island, while Jeppe went for a refreshing swim in the sea, just to cool down a bit. Within a few minutes Katja came back carrying a lot of different shells, sticks and stuff, that would get new life as table decoration objects. Time to start the second photoshoot.
Then it was time to enjoy the food, and together with a pair of very curious crows, we started to taste the different dishes in the torpical menu that we decided to try. The selection of dishes was huge and by far enough food for two persons to enjoy, in a mix of seafood, meat, vegetables, fruits and desserts, all of it with a great taste and you could taste the ingredients was some of best Coco could manage.
After a great lunch it was time to get our digestion up and running, so we grabbed our snorkeling gear and cameras – time to hit the water. And as of most of Maldives, the true beauty of the island came to mind, as we swam outside on the edge of the reef. So undisturbed and full of the typical maldivian marinelife, that you can glance at for hours. We didn’t have the time to swim all the way around the island, but if you go here, try to remember your snorkeling gear, as this is a really good reef.
Embudhoo – Coco Palm Desert Island is a certain must do if your holiday go towards Coco Palm. It is also possible to stay overnight on the island, if this is of your interest.
